The world of work is changing. The need for finely tuned social and emotional skills will rapidly grow. So does demand for higher cognitive skills, such as creativity, critical thinking, and decision making. While some of these skills, such as empathy, are innate, and hard to teach, others, such as agile thinking and working in teams can be honed and taught. Learning itself is a skill worth honing!
altLearners is an attempt to offer simple self-learning capsules across four streams. While school is the best age to develop certain mindsets and attitudes, and a strong high-school level curricula with focus on these skills might be the best thing to happen, the focus of altLearners.com right now is a bit broad and can be of help both to a high-school learner and a adult learner.
We are a small community of mentors who create learning capsules that guide you on a specific skill in these four streams. The capsules mostly utilize open/free resources. You may have to purchase some books or an occasional online course though.
